DAILY STORIES
Sometimes you just need an epic couples photo. Here is one of my favourites.
They took me to their favourite spots in Waskesiu on their wedding day. This girl hopped from rock to rock in the river and weaved her way through fallen trees to get to the good light in the forest. All in her heavily beaded, beautiful, wedding dress.
It was so worth it.
Give me all the adventurous couples.

Delivering sweet moments like this from a real wedding. That’s what I live for.
This little guy’s parents just tied the knot and were standing in their receive line. While talking to a guest Dad reached over to console the tired ring bearer and Mom nuzzled in for a kiss.
This moment was over just as fast as it happened..I have tried myself to read body language and anticipate situations taking place at weddings. But I couldn’t have guessed that this would unfold.
I’m glad I was in the right place at the right time.
This beautiful ceremony took place out at the Berry Barn. Just outside of Saskatoon.

I noticed how he watched her. Very focused. Couldn’t take his eyes off of her. He didn’t sit where they normally do during the ceremony so I didn’t know who he was. I didn’t put two and two together until it came time for family photos.
He was her Grandfather. On her Mother’s side. Very polite, and I thought he was quite stoic (like most grandfathers are in this situation). Until she bent down to hug him and thank him for staying to be in family photos.
The tears started to well up in his eyes and he whispered: “I wouldn’t have missed it for the world”. It was the most lovely and perfect moment to witness.

“It doesn’t matter where you are going, it’s who you have beside you.”
When I start talking to my couples about locations for photos on a wedding day or for an engagement session it really comes down to connection.
The connection that a couple has to a particular place or location will make them love their images that much more.
Sure, a pretty landscape will photograph beautifully, but if that particular spot is where they got engaged or they visit every Sunday it will capture their personality as a couple even more.
I have heard far too many times from guests at weddings: “I don’t understand why they went here for their photos, they don’t even do that” while they look at the photos from their friends trendy engagement session.
The photo here was taken on a golf course where the Groom worked at when he was younger. It is also a spot that the two visit almost every weekend. They were very excited to be spending a part of their day here for photos. We went to all of their favourite places on the Waskesiu Golf Course.
