Ways to Plan Your Wedding from Home while in Self Isolation
Things are different right now in the world. That is the truth. But you two are still getting married. Don’t let the new adjustment of working from home or stress of the daily news take over your life. Instead find some normalcy in continuing with planning your wedding.
Zoom Meetings. Zoom is an online meeting software. Originally allowing business to have meetings with coworkers and clients online. But now it is winning the pandemic by bring people closer together even though we are physically further apart. Use this tool to schedule meeting with potential vendors. I have used it a number of times this past month already. It allows that interaction I love that you can’t get on a phone call.
Ask for reviews from past clients. Anyone in good standing with their past couples will be happy to pass along kinds words from them to you. I have even given email addresses (with permission) so that my past couples could answer questions that my current couples had.
Tastings. When talking to bakers see if they can leave samples at your door. Food delivery is still allowed and you need to make sure that your wedding cake is going to be yummy. Most bakers have an industrial space that has rules and regulations on cleaning.
Deep dive into social media. Now is the time that you can spend all day on the couch and get lost in your vendors social media. Read their captions, see who interacts with them (you may discover another vendor you didn’t know you needed this way). Check out their website and read their blog posts. This is the best way to get to know the people and vendors you want to be a part of your wedding day.
Highlight reel or full day. A groom from this past year said the most profound thing to me while looking at a wedding album I was showing him during our consult. He said that it was so nice to see what a full wedding looked like because social media was full of the best photos from someone’s wedding day. They waned to see the in-between moments and how it all came together. Ask to see your vendors reels, full day photos or behind the scenes moments. It will speak volumes of what it is like to work with them.
